I was told the flower in the middle was called trillium, hope it is correct. Several years back, I had the opportunity to visit a redwood forest, I was intrigued by the ground flora and moss, so I photographed it and painted it. Painting moss was a challenge, but I feel I did justice to the moss. I may do this one again for the challenge of it. This painting was oil, on canvas, 16×20. I sold it awhile back. Sorry for the small example, I need to dig around for slightly larger one.
By popular request, I dug around and figured out how to provide a larger example of “Trullum”, enjoy.

Beautiful….I wish it was bigger though.
Thanks, I will see what I can do, I suspect when I transferred it by email it downsized? By the way I am still working on “Warm Winter” it is being oil on linen, again 16 x 20.
It’s beautiful as well. To be honest at first glance, I thought it was a photograph
I need to check it, I painted it from my photograph, and I could have mixed them up, though I doubt it, if I can make it larger you will see the difference. I am not really good at keeping track of things. So your comment is worthy, considering my lack of concentration most of the time.
I checked out the original file on the Mac, it has my signature on it, so it is not the photograph, I took a photo off the mac with my smarty pants phone and it really came out bad, so I will update later. Thank you for your comments. By the way I like your poems, they motivate me.
Why thank you!
Fyi: I added a larger Trullum… had so much fun painting it.
Thanks for letting me know; it’s beautiful!
